Win A Copy Of Bread's New CD

The following appeared in an unknown newspaper in South Africa (probably in Cape Town and possibly called "Tonight") and was written by Iain MacDonald - date not specified but probably October 22, 1996:

Win A Copy Of Bread's New CD
American Supergroup At Good Hope Centre Tomorrow

Following sold-out concerts and rave reviews in Johannesburg, re-formed American supergroup Bread usher in the summer season of big concerts in Cape Town tomorrow.

The group - featuring original song-writing duo David Gates and James Griffin - will perform at the Good Hope Centre, backed by a 10-piece string section and fronted by the Nashville lead guitarist, Randy Flowers.

And five lucky "Tonight" readers can each win a classic Bread CD, simply by reading this article and answering one question.

Bread emerged as a major force in American music in the late 1960s, when their song I Wanna Make It With You hit top spot on the US charts, and the world was treated to a series of classic songs from then on. In the early seventies, Bread ruled the airwaves with songs such as If, Baby I'm-a Want You, Everything I Own, Guitar Man and Sweet Surrender.

But they broke up in the mid-seventies when members went their own way. Now, 25 years after Make It With You, Bread is back on the road, on the first world-wide tour of their career, with South Africa first stop on the international agenda.

At the same time, Elektra Records has released the CD David Gates and Bread - The Essentials, to commemorate the re-forming of the band and their world tour. It's a 24-song album including their greatest hits, plus David Gates' solo successes.

Five lucky readers can each win a copy of The Essentials by answering this simple question: What's the name of the newly released Bread CD to commemorate the band's world tour?

Send your answer on a postcard to Kim Saville Promotions, PO Box 2660, Cape Town 8000, to reach that address before November 12. Remember to put your name, address and phone number on the card, and you may be a winner.
